Canoe paddlers from the Outrigger Canoe Club, Hui Nalu Canoe Club, and the Queen's Surf Club, gathered on the grass in front of the Royal Hawaiian Hotel. They had been selected to represent Oahu in the first revival of canoe racing in 1933 in Kona.
