Duke Kahanamoku, center, front, was a member of the championship Hui Nalu swim team in 1913. His teammates included, front, W. T. Rawlins (manager), Duke and E. K. Miller (captain). Back: W. H. D. King, Lukela Kaupiko, Dan Keawemahi, Hiram Kahele, Curtis Hustace and Fred Wilhelm. Duke joined the Outrigger Canoe Club in 1917.
Perry McGillivray 1916
Perry McGillivray autographed this photo to Duke Kahanamoku in 1916. They were on the U.S. Silver Medal 4x200 meter freestyle relay team together at the 1912 Olympic Games. In the 1920 Olympic Games they won a Gold Medal for the same event. Perry competed for the Illinois Athletic Club.
Outrigger Canoe Club Relay Team 1919
Outrigger Canoe Club's men's swimming team won the 600-yard relay event in the Fall Swimming Meet in Honolulu Harbor on November 1, 3 and 4, 1919. They were the first senior relay team of the Club to win in an open event. Front: H. Harvey, F. Turner and A. E. "Toots" Minviielle. Back: A. G. Harris. W. W. Harris Jr. and A. Makinney.

Welcoming Buster Crabbe 1930
On hand to greet "Buster" Crabbe when he returned home for the annual National AAU outdoor championships at the War Memorial Natatorium in July 1930, were, front: Mickey Riley, Roy Craw, Harold Smith, Sargent Kahanamoku and George Harris. Swimming 1931
The American swimming team stopped in Hawaii en route to Japan on July 15, 1931 before the 1932 Olympics. The team included Ted Wiget, Carleton Leedy, Jimmy Gilhula, Dick Deqener, John Schneider, Buster Crabbe (Outrigger member), Lloyd Osborne (Outrigger member), John Howland, George Fissler, Donald Horn, Maiola Kalili, DeLaney Kiphuth (mascot) and Manuella Kalili. The coach is Bob Kiphuth of Yale. Crabbe won a gold in the 400-meter freestyle in the 1932 Games. Osborne dropped out of swimming after the trip and joined the Navy. Both later became elite masters swimmers.
