The Duke Kahanamoku sculpture by Rosalie Persons was donated to the Club by the artist on June 10, 1988. Duke posed for the artist in 1934 when he was 44 years old. The original sculpture was done in plaster. In 1986 Mrs. Persons had the scupture bronzed in Bedi-Maky in Long Island, NY. The sculpture is anchored on a large lava stone Mrs. Person's father found in Waimanalo. The wooden base was created by Jack Hagar.
