1988 U.S. Olympic Water Polo Team Visits 9-11-1988
The Outrigger Water Polo Committee hosted members of the U.S. Olympic Water Polo Team at brekfast on September 11 before they left for Korea. Enjoying the brunch were Gretchen Duplanty, Olympians Terry Schroeder and Chris Duplanty, and Todd Duplanty. Chris is a goalie on the team.
1988 U.S. Olympic Water Polo Team
Outrigger member Chris Duplanty was named to the 1988 Olympic Water Polo team for the Games in Seoul Korea beginning Sept. 21. Chris is the first player from outside California to be named to the team in more than 30 years. A goalie, Chris played water polo at Punahou and UC Irvine, and has played on the U.S. National Team this summer.
1988 U.S. Canoe & Kayak National Championships
Junior 'Riggers Malia Kamisugi, Wyatt Jones, Hunter Eggers, Brad Yim and David Buck stole the show at the USCK National Championships. David won 4 golds, Brad 3 and Malia 3 in kayaks. Wyatt won 1 gold and teamed with Hunter for another in canoes. Malia, Wyatt and Brad were named to the Pan American Junior National team and Malia was given the Outstanding Sportsmanship Award.
