Outrigger Canoe Club's Masters Men 45 volleyball team placed second in the Gold Division at the USAV National Championship tournament in Denver. In the finals of the loser's bracket, Outrigger beat the defending 2004 champions 25-20 and 25-21. In the tournament finals, an all-star team from California defeated Outrigger in two straight games. Outrigger's team, front: Jon Hedlund, Ralph Smith, Peter Balding Jr., Chris Crabb, Peter Ehrman. Back: Jon Stanley (holding Noa Haine), Marc Haine (holding Riley Haine), T. C. Gray, Jon Andersen (holding Lars Andersen), Jay Anderson and Barney Robinson. Hedlund, Smith and Balding received first team All-America honors.
2005 USAV Junior Olympic Boy's Championship
Outrigger's Boys 14 finished in third place in the Gold Open Division. Front: Taylor Crabb, Matt Feldman, Noah Hammond. Middle: Sorin Wilcox, Micah Marter, David Fink, Rick Budar. Back: Coach Chris Crabb, Henry Cassiday, Maddison McKibbin, Kaiwi Crabb, Nick Christman, Coach Kirk Christman.
2005 USAV Junior Olympics Boy's Championship
Outrigger's won the Boys 17 Division. The team included Kawika Shoji, Riley McKibbin, Spencer McLachlin, Will Ehrman, Kealii Frank, Matt Brown, David Elias, Jordan Inafuku, Kala McInerny and Jacob Jenkins. They were coached by Chris McLachlin and Charlie Jenkins. Spencer McLachlin was named the MVP of the tournament. Kawika Shoji and Riley McKibbin were named to the All Tournament team.
2005 USAV Junior Olympic Boy's Championship
Outrigger's Boys 18 took the Bronze Division Gold medal and were rated eighth overall in the Club division. Front: Dru Hara, Mikey Cote, George Bukes, Chris Tumaneng, Curtis Watasaki, Landon Morgado. Back: Coach Jenic Tumaneng, Coach Mike Cote, Bryce Walsh, TJ Zabriskie, Kaohu Berg-Hee and Coach John Zabriskie.
