2009 Na Wahine O Ke Kai Reunion

Thirty years after winning the first Na Wahine O Ke Kai Molokai-to-Oahu race in 1979, Outrigger women celebrate the 30th anniversary of the historic first race and their win at Outrigger Canoe Club, September 28, 2009. The crew: Sue Oldt Damon, Tiare Richert-Finney, Michele St. John, Sharon Bintliff, Tracy Phillips, Monte Costa, Anne Hogan Perry, and Suzy Johnston Hemmings. Not attending: Kaiulu Downing, Connie Maguire, Anita Minteer and Diana Smart.

2009 Hong Kong Around the Island Canoe Race

Paddlers from the OCC ventured to the Far East to compete in the Hong Kong Around the Island Canoe Race. Winning their fourth straight 42K race were Jed Gushman, Byron Ho, Evan Rhodes, Craig Gamble, Karel Tresnak Jr. and Chuck Fan.

2009 Jimmy Buffet Visits Club

Jimmy Buffet enjoyed some down time at the Outrigger Ka Moi Lounge after his show at the Waikiki Shell. Welcoming him are Val Davis and her parrot, a veteran of many Buffet shows, and Jeff Davis.

2009 Ko Kainalu Program

Junior members of the Outrigger Canoe Club attended the week-long Ko Kainalu program at the Club, learning new water skills. This year's graduates are Ellen Ashford, Emma Bradley, Matthew Chan, Amber Daniel, Noah Deer, Kelly Heyer, Karl Heyer V, Easton Manson, Mariah Rigg, Kaya McTigue, Gus Soderholm and Jackie Wade. The program is put on the Club's Beach Services staff and the Beach and Water Safety Committee.

2009 Pool Party

Celebrating at a pool party after their Police Activities League volleyball season were the OCC Girls 13 team coached by Genie Kincaid and Kisi Haine. The girls won 85 percent of their races.

2009 Molokai to Oahu Paddleboard Race 7-26-2009

Eric Abbott finished third in the M18-29 Stock Division in 6:03:21 and Mikey Cote won the M18-29 Stock Division in 5:32:25.

2009 World Championship of Deaf Surfers

Trey Balding, center, won first place in the Longboard Masters Division and fourth place in the Shortboard Masters Division of the World Championship of Deaf Surfers at Kuhio Beach. Cheering him on were dad Peter Balding Jr., sister Liz, Trey, mom Mary, and grandparents May and Peter Balding.

2009 Seattle to Portland Bicycle Ride

Scott Ballentyne and his son Sean at the finish line of the ride. They finished the two-day 214 mile ride with a total ride time of just under 13.5 hours.
