Marc Haine, far left, Tim Guard (middle) and Todd Bradley (right) hosted crew members from the USS Chung-Hoon to a day of water fun at the Outrigger Canoe Club. Tim is involved with a program to introduce Navy crew members to water activities. The trio took the sailors canoe paddling and stand up paddleboarding.
2010 Tsunami Warning 2-27-2010
Outrigger members responded quickly when a tsunami warning was issued for Hawaii at 6 a.m. The Club's koa and fiberglass canoes were moved to the top parking deck, paper records from the Board Room were moved to safety. The Boston Whaler was moved off shore, and Bruce Black (above) in his sailing canoe began towing OC4s from the moorage in front of the Club to deep water outside Castles. Five tsunami waves arrived after 11 a.m. but fortunately didn't cause destruction anywhere in the islands. This photo was taken by Mary Swanson from the 17th floor of the Colony Surf when Bruce was towing the canoes out.
2010 Honoring Ruby Ifversen
The Outrigger Canoe Club Senior and Golden Masters Women gave Ruby Ifversen a little send off after canoe paddling practice. Ruby's been paddling for the Club for more than three decades and is relocating to the mainland with husband Neal. 2010 Bronze Plaque Honoring Hawaiian Princes Who Brought Surfing to California
A bronze plaque honoring the three young Hawaiian Princes who, in 1985, started the craze for surfing in California, was launched April 9 in Santa Cruz, CA. Kapiolani Kawananakoa, Marchesa Marignoli and her niece and nephew Regina Kawananakoa and David Kawananakoa contributed generously. Marchesa attended the launching ceremony accompanied by Kristin Zambucka who conceived the idea for the plaque, designed it and raised the funds to have it made.

2010 OCC Bridge Club Christmas Party
The OCC Bridge Club held its annual Christmas luncheon at the Club were Gay Sevier, Vickie Sutton, Marillyn Haine, Billie Baird, Dee Judd, Pat Dixon, Bill Dixon, Cecelia Blackfield, Janet Feeback, Gloria Griffin, May Borthwick, Elsa Wixom, Garrett Saikley, Busaba Han, Luke Han.
2010 Home for the Holidays
Amy and Brad Lawson and Tri and Britta Bourne played together as Junior 'Riggers and came back to the Club during the holidays to play volleyball, surf and get some sun together. The boys currently play volleyball for their respective colleges, Brad at national champion Stanford and Tri at USC. Amy and Britta, former teammates for local soccer club the Bulls went on to play soccer for their colleges, Amy at Westmont and Brit at Montana and UH.
