A new bronze plaque commemorating Thomas "Daddy" Haine was dedicated on Labor Day Weekend during the annual Daddy Haine Four-Man Volleyball Tournament. The plaque is mounted on the bleachers of the volleyball courts that were named for Haine after his death in 1994. The plaque was a gift to the Club from Kawika Grant.
2010 Dinosaur Volleyball Tournament 2-27-2010
Twenty-three men's teams and six women's teams waited out the tsunami warning on February 27-28 to compete in the Dinosaur Volleyball Tournament on the Club courts. The tournament was won for the fourth year in a row by Jim Nichols and Greg Lyles of Los Angeles, 15-7, over Stevie Li and Todd Harrison. Marcie Nowack and Diana McKibbin won the women's title. Awards were presented at a BBQ after the championship matches.
53rd Annual Haili Men's Volleyball Tournament 3-25-2010
Outrigger Canoe Club's won the A Division and the Masters Division in the 2010 Haili Men's Volleyball Tournament with the same team. Playing a full schedule in both divisions, they were the first team to ever win two divisions with one team in the same year. Front: Bruce Black, Lyman Lacro, John McDermot, Stevie Li, Stan Brown. Back: Alika Williams, Jon Andersen, Stein Metzger, Barney Robinson, TC Gray, Marc Haine, Jon Stanley. Marc Haine was named Most Outstanding Player in the Masters Division. Lacro was named to the All Star team in the A Division, and Stein and Alika were named to the All Star team in both the A and Masters Divisions.
2010 NCAA Volleyball Championship
The Stanford University volleyball team won the NCAA men's volleyball title on May 8. Six of the seven players on STanford's roster with Hawaii ties are Outrigger Canoe Club members. In this picture, Erik Shoji and Jordan Inafuku (front) show off the trophy. 2010 USAV Junior National Championships
Outrigger Canoe Club's Boys 18s finished second in the USAV Junior Nationals in Austin, TX. Front: Jaylen Reyes, Taylor Crabb, Dylan Chock, Scott Sakaida, Noah Hammond, Lowell Tong, Colin Johnson. 2010 FIVB World Tour
Kevin Wong, left, and Casey Jennings, right, won the Gold Medal match at the FIVB World Tour event in The Hague, Netherlands. This was their second tournament playing together and they became the first team in FIVB history wo win gold after receiving a "lucky loser" main draw berth. It was the third international gold for Wong who also son titles in 2001 and 2002 with Outrigger's Stein Metzger.
2010 OCC 4-Man Draw Christmas Tournament 12-18-2010
A total of 10 teams competed in the OCC 4-Man Draw Christmas Volleyball Tournament at the Outrigger Canoe Club. The winning first and second place teams were, front, Jaylen Reyes, Nejc Zemljak, Doug Johnstone. Standing: Henry Cassidy, Brad Lawson, Ryan Woodward, Kevin Wong and Josh Taylor. The winning team was Zemljak, Reyes, Wong and Woodward.
