After the hit, Outrigger's ama was on top of the Hui Nalu paddlers. HN pushed the ama back and it caused the Outrigger canoe to huli. Both clubs felt the other was in their lane. Due to the huli, Outrigger finished seventh and last. Neither man nor canoe were damaged.
