Elected to the ODKF Hawaii Waterman Hall of Fame Class of 2016 were Bruce Blankenfeld, Sharron Weber, Paul Strauch and Diane Stowell. Receiving on behalf of Diane is her son Dean Stowell.

Members of the Outrigger Duke Kahanamoku Foundation Hawaii Waterman Hall of Fame Class of 2015 were honored by the Hawaii State Senate for their accomplishments and dedication to the community. 2016 USA Junior Junior National Water Polo Team
Emalia Eichelberger was a member of the USA National Youth Water Polo team that won the Gold medal in the FINA Junior World Championship in Volos Greece in 2015. In 2014 she traveled to Hungary for a cadet team training camp and tournament. In 2014 she won a gold at the UANA Junior Pan American Championships and in 2013 won a gold medal at the UANA Youth Pan American Championship in Buenos Aires.
2016 Punahou Water Polo
Emalia Eichelberger lettered four years in water polo at Punahou School and won four Interscholastic League of Hawaii titles (2013-2016), was two-time state Most Valuable Player (2015-16), three time first team All-American (2014-16), four time first team all-state (2013-16). She went on to play goalie for Stanford where she was a two-time NCAA champion (2017, 2019), two-time
ACWPC All American (2019-2020), two-time All MPSF (2019-20), All NCAA Tournament First Team (2019).

Max Von Sydow won the Under 19 Division in the World Sailing Championships in France and was second overall.
2016 World Sprints
Outrigger's Men 70s crew on the Gold Coast after winning two gold, one silver and two baronze medals at the World Sprints: Ron Hochuli, Chris Crabb, Marshall Giddens (Lokahi), Steve Arnett (Kai Ehitu), Billy Mowat and Bill Johnson.
2016 World Sprints
Outrigger members Ron Hochuli, Chris Crabb, Bill Johnson and Billy Mowat won two golds and one silver medal in the 70s division of the World Sprints in Australia. The rest of the crew was Marshall Giddens and Steve Arnette.

2016 Rabbit Kekai Beachboy Funeral
Paying their respects at Rabbit Kekai's beach boy funeral were Clyde Aikau, Fred Hemmings Jr. and Joey Cabell. Rabbit coached Outrigger paddlers in the early 1960s and surfed against Clyde, Fred and Joey at surf meets in the late 1950s and early 1960s.
2016 Canoe Sailing
Sam Clemens, Doug Ostrem, Scott Ballentyne and Michael Durkin took a rest stop on the sandbar in the middle of Kaneohe Bay during a morning of canoe sailing instruction on the Club's Holoholo.

Racing in the 30-mile Around the Island canoe race in Hong Kong were Karel Tresnak Jr., Shawn Bruins, Guy Wilding, Jake Hamstra, Griffin Bolan and Pat Dolan. OCC won the race.

2016 Bartender Chris Guzman Retires
Outrigger bartender Chris Gusman served his last drink in the Ka Moi Boathouse on December 30. At the end of the day he was toasted by the many members he has seen grow up during his 39 years tending bar at the Club.
